Aspire Appalachia hosted a parade this past Saturday, May 6 to honor all of the seniors graduating this year. Students from Breathitt High School, Jackson Independent, and Riverside gathered in unison to celebrate their achievements.

"With the uncertainty of everything of COVID-19, we know the seniors aren't getting a proper graduation, so we want to do something special and have the community rally around them in a senior celebration parade", stated Jarad Fugate, Vice President of Aspire Appalachia.
The community gathered along the parade route cheering and celebrating the seniors. WJSN 97.3 FM played graduation music while the parade was in progress and named the seniors from each school.
A rough estimate indicated that around 80 cars were a part of this first-ever parade.
Aspire Appalachia would like to express our sincere appreciation to the following:
All of our senior graduates for participating
The community for gathering along the route and celebrating the seniors
First Church of God of Jackson for the use of their parking lot
City of Jackson, Kentucky for their help in getting everything approved
Jackson Police Department, Breathitt Co. Sheriff's Office, and Constable District #2 Ronnie Begley for help with traffic control
Jackson Fire Department for the use of their trucks to hang the banner and riding in the parade
Calvin Welch of Sheepdog Perspectives for filming and taking pictures
Bluegrass Sports Nation for filming/livestreaming the event
WYMT News for their coverage of the event
